Beijing, March 22: Google should not "politicise" the row with the Chinese government, an editorial in a Chinese daily said, adding that the US internet giant has "suddenly announced it no longer wants to follow the rules it had no trouble following earlier".
China Daily editorial on Monday said: "Business is business. But when it involves political tricks, business will come to an end soon. The more Google politicises the issue, the less room it leaves for itself for further negotiations."

Chennai, March 21: Sahara Group and Rendezvous Sports, a consortium of business houses, pipped three other corporate biggies to win the bids for two new Indian Premier League teams from the next season.
Sahara Adventure Sports Group was the highest bidder at $370 million (Rs.1,702 crore) and bagged Pune as the host city. Kerala-based consortium Rendezvous Sports bid $333.33 million (Rs.1.333.33 crore) to get Kochi as the other franchisee to make the IPL a 10-team affair from 2011.

Jammu, March 21: Some traders doing business across the Line of Control (LoC) are diverting money to fund separatists in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has said.
The disclosure was made by Industries and Commerce Minister SS Salathia in a written reply to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Ashok Khajuria in the assembly on Saturday.
The statement said: "It is a fact that some persons in the garb of cross-LoC trade have been found indulging in providing help to militants for fomenting trouble in the state."

Thiruvananthapuram, March 21: It was a narrow escape for 27 passengers of a Kingfisher flight from Bangalore when explosives were found in the cargo hold after they had deplaned at the airport here.
"It is not a bomb but certainly one which is explosive in nature. We have decided to register an FIR (first information report) and investigations have begun. We expect that by tomorrow (Monday), we will know what kind of explosive it is," Thiruvananthapuram police chief MR Ajith Kumar said.

Patna, March 21: Five people, including a former village body head, were burnt to death when a group of men attacked them and set their vehicle on fire in Bihar's Banka district, police said on Sunday. One person has been arrested and 15 people have been booked for the crime.
Prayag Yadav, the former head of Tilkara panchayat, and four of his supporters were killed on Saturday night near Bhaljore More in Banka, about 170 km from here.
The five were on their way to Jhalar village when a group of men attacked them with bombs and opened fire, said Superintendent of Police Shyam Kumar.

Gaza, March 21: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon called on Sunday on Israel to lift its blockade of the Gaza Strip, as he visited the impoverished salient to examine first hand the humanitarian situation.
Addressing a news conference in the southern Strip city of Khan Younis, Ban said the "unacceptable" blockade increased suffering while "weakening the moderates and encourages the extremists".

Agartala, March 21: Tripura on Sunday announced plans to make all public and private vehicles in Agartala run on compressed natural gas (CNG) by 2013, thus making the capital "India's first green city".
Tripura Natural Gas Co Ltd (TNGCL), a joint venture of the Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) and the Tripura and Assam governments, has undertaken a project to supply CNG to all private and government vehicles.CNG will also be available to those now using electricity, petrol and diesel to run various machineries.

Washington, March 18: The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) believes Osama bin Laden and his top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, are inside Pakistan though it does not know precisely where.
The agency officials believe the two are hiding, "either in the northern tribal areas or in North Waziristan, or somewhere in that vicinity," CIA Director Leon Panetta told The Washington Post in an interview published on Thursday.

Chicago, March 17: Pakistani American terror suspect David Coleman Headley, accused of helping to plan the deadly in November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, is expected to change his plea to `guilty` in a Chicago court on Thursday.
Headley, son of a Pakistani diplomat and an American mother who changed his given name of Daood Gilani in 2006 to scout targets for the 26/11 terror attack, will appear before US District Judge Harry Leinenweber for a change of plea hearing, according to a court notice.
